The greater Masaka region of Uganda is known for its vastness and its big number of people of around 116,600 as estimated by UBOS in 2020. The region consists of 12 whole districts which among others include; BUKOMANSIMBI, SSEMBABULE, MASAKA, RAKAI and others. The focus is on the above areas mainly because they register a big number of vulnerable people as compared, and most of them especially those deep down in the villages are poor and faced with a lot of problems and challenges.
Most of these problems are greatly attributed to lack of support and basic skills of survival. These Individuals and families have become vulnerable to social and political changes due this, and they are more likely to continue suffering with the worldly changing waves if no solution is provided. There are no shortcuts or quick solutions to these problems hence a sustainable commitment is required to improve their lives and to ensure that they can address the problems they face themselves. Therefore, JK Arms for Charity finds an opportunity to support them with knowledge and skills of problem solving and self-survival.

The sole purpose of the project is to equip members with knowledge and skills of being self-reliant that will help them to survive times of tribulations and to over-come the continuous challenges of life. The project will consist of study sessions that will be conducted on a weekly basis among the groups of people that will be selected from different areas of our operation. The study sessions will be in form of levels where group members will start from level 1 then 2 and 3 up to the last level while assessing their progress. Each level will equip group members with different skills therefore group members will be required to attend all levels. These groups will be formed consisting of a number of around 8-10 members for the start and these will include men and women.
The study sessions will be conducted on a ground level in the specific areas where group members reside and a meeting study point will be set by the project committee in that very area. Specialist will be hired and required to move to these areas for study sessions according to the schedules and the JK Arms for Charity finance committee will be responsible for the funding and all project expenses.
NOTE: Advancements will be made depending on the increase in the number of people and groups in different areas.

Developing good communication skills is critical for a successful relationship whether parents, children, spouses, neighbors or sibling relationship. It helps resolve conflicts and can prevent them from occurring hence paving way for happy home and community life.

FOOD AND NUTRITION /PROPER FEEDING
Families and individuals must know that proper feeding eliminates the evils of malnutrition and increases health. Hence learning skills and knowledge of proper feeding will ensure families’ and community health.
LEVEL 4
WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE
Poor sanitation and hygiene as well as unsafe drinking water make thousands of people sick and at risk of death hence acquiring the knowledge and support of sanitation and proper hygiene can eliminate diseases and risks and ensure a health life.
LEVEL 5
SAFETY AND HEALTH
By protecting your family, you reduce any possible dangers and also ensure that family members are happy, efficient and productive. Homes are called homes not because of structure but because home members love and protect one other. Gaining knowledge and skills of safety and health is one way of improving family protection and health which increases productivity.
LEVEL 6
SAVINGS AND FINANCES
Saving money is one of the essential aspects of building wealth and having a secure financial future. If individuals and families can learn how to save, they will be able to take risks or try something new and their options for decisions will expand. This way they will learn to be self-dependent in addition to having a peace of mind.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Skills development is a process of identifying abilities and developing them. It is a vital tool to empower people to safe guard their future and for overall development of individuals.
